Topic: Touch control

What are you think about some GUI improvements or redesign for better "user experience" on modern devices like convertibles or tablets?

I'm using Pianoteq live on my Thinkpad 8 tablet (great machine!) and the touch control is not definitely very comfort.

Re: Touch control

I use Smithson Martin's Emulator Pro software to control Pianoteq (and Ableton Live, and tons of other plugins) via touch on my surface pro 2. It works fantastically.

Emulator lets you create custom control interfaces with sliders, buttons, radial dials, etc, which can control any midi-assignable software. I use it for selecting Pianoteq presets, controlling volume, and turning on and off Pianoteq's effects. But really you could control any of the parameters which are midi-mappable within Pianoteq.

Highly recommended!

Disclaimer: MIDI Newbie here...

That Emulator Pro software looks interesting. I'm trying to do something similar on an Android touch device, albeit only attempting to control Piatnoteq and not any additional DAW.

The Android application I am using is called DAWOSC. So far it's great for switching presets, but for adjusting various Pianoteq tuning parameters I find it less agreeable.

Ideally what I would like, when switching to different presets within DAWOSC, is to have the various sliders, and controls which I have set up to adjust hammer hardness, volume, etc. be automatically updated within DAWOSC (as they are inside of the Pianoteq interface) to reflect the actual settings of that preset. This doesn't happen and I'm not even sure this is possible with Pianoteq as I see no ability to transmit settings via MIDI to a controller.

Are your controls updated within Emulator Pro to reflect that actual state of a Pianoteq preset or are they just generic adjustment controls which don't understand the current values of a Pianoteq preset?
