Topic: Dev Question...

I use the export WAV file option a lot, and, as you probably know, WAV files are needlessly huge. I was wondering if you would be open to ever implementing a "Export as FLAC" option that would cut file sizes by 75-100 percent. The FLAC format is licensed under the New BSD license and can be implemented into proprietary software (so long as you mention that the code isn't yours).

TL;DR: Can we please have an "Export as FLAC" option? Pretty pretty please?

EDIT: Licence details: https://xiph.org/flac/license.html

Re: Dev Question...

FLAC never cuts file sizes by 75-100%. 100% would mean that resulting filesize would be 0.

It cuts 30-50%, depending on audio content.

But yes, it would be useful to have FLAC, and MP3 as formats to choose, alongside WAV.

Hard work and guts!

Want to join your offer. Different formats just "out from box" would be very useful and help to save time (while converting).

.flac (or .ape/.wv) and mp.3 are the most needed

Whoops, my brain was thinking about 100% increases being double and relating that to half.

And I don't know about your encoder, but I regularly get a 70-85% file size decrease from pianoteq WAV to FLAC
