Topic: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

Hi all,

reverb i now always use.
(you may like it...)

Important: You need both of them!

1)Drag and drop in Pianoteq,(just one)
2)Go in Effects,
3)Save preset

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

...It seems that in Pianoteq, even after we have save the effect (reverb),

Ptq seems to not make a copy of the IR .wav files inside the program folder... ???

maybe i do wrong, so i need help...

(Forgive my poor english)

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

...or put the two .wav files in (Mac):

User/(your name)/Library/Application Support/Modartt/Pianoteq/Presets/Free Presets

(sorry,i don't know for Windows users)
but someone will certainly give the good way to do it

PS: I am sure, (i hope!) there is a simpler way to us IR in Pianoteq5...

In the main window, right-click on the reverb button, then select Use WAV impulse -> Load wav impulse... then find your wav file.

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

Which one is the "left" channel?

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

fantastic sound
How do you use them together ?

If the author is french (I really dont' know)
the wave G could be left and the D right
(gauche et droit)

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

Separate IR file for each channel? They're both stereo files, so why would you need that?

Hi,

Thank you,

Pitou give the answer!

G is left and D is right
(gauche et droit)

Drag one of the .wav files in Pianoteq, (and the two will be use by the program)

IMPORTANT: i really think it is better to put the two .wav files in: (Mac)
User/(your name)/Library/Application Support/Modartt/Pianoteq/Presets/Free Presets,

then go in Effects,

then Load Impulse Wav,

then save as a preset.
(This way Pianoteq will always find the .wav files)

PS: i do not make the IR files.

i try many, many of IR files i have, and these are the reverb i prefer to use...
(with the last .fxp ("DnR") i actually love)

hope you understand me

Forgive my poor english

Hi,

truth is, i always put both of them in same folder,
and i have always think they must be together to work well...

take a look here:

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

interesting but... that implies a stereo source for the creation of impulse, or better a "dimensional" source I would say (like a piano, I agree); a mono source (voice, flute,... e.g.) would have no need for "stereo to stereo"... Then the convolution reverb has to be able to handle true stereo as well.

Re: IR (Impulse Response) "THE" reverb i now always use

iNTERESTING THANKS!

On my MacBook Pro, I used to redirect the IR folder from PianoTeq Presets to: /Users/USERNAME/Documents/Native Instruments/Kontakt 5/presets/Effects

Yes Kontakt's Its, are great ;-)
