Topic: Programming Interface (API) available ?

Hi!

I would like to use Pianoteq without the available user interface and be able to remote control all
of its features via an external program. Is there a programmin interface (API) availabe for this kind of approach ?

Thanx in advance!

regards,
Hans

Re: Programming Interface (API) available ?

I'd be interested in that as well, but I think either MIDI or VST/AU automation is about as close as you're likely to get.

Hi!

Thanx for Your reply.

As far as I understand, using the Pianoteq VST plugin from within another software (Cubase, ...) also brings up the Pianoteq GUI ?!

How could You use MIDI to controll ALL paramters/functions of Pianoteq ?

I would like to hve Pianoteq installed on a "server computer", and remote control it via TCPIP/OSC from another computer, mobile phone, tablet, ...

Regards,
Hans

Re: Programming Interface (API) available ?

Go to Options->MIDI. You can assign almost any parameter to various MIDI messages.

Hard work and guts!

Thanx for that hint!

Re: Programming Interface (API) available ?

Good morning!

one more question that I have is, howto get the MIDI messages received via OSC into Pianoteq ?

I understand that the MIDI-keyboard is connected to a MIDI-IN-port on the soundcard.

because the MIDI-messages received via OSC are received from a software program I cant connect that to another
MIDI-IN-port on the soundcard. Maybe somekind of virtual MIDI-port software would be a solution ?
but thie OSC-MIDID-gateway  would use a MIDI-OUT-port to send the MIDI-messages and I somehow would need to connect the virtual MIDI-OUT to a virtual MIDI-IN port which Pianoteq would be also listen on.

Is this possible ?

any hints/ideas on this issue are greatly appreciated!

Thanx in advance,
Hans

Re: Programming Interface (API) available ?

Yes, virtual MIDI ports would be a solution.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Programming Interface (API) available ?

Without at all following your OSCs and IDs, a virtual MIDI pipe I've found useful for the PTQ listen is LoopBe1/LoopBe30.

You pay for the 30-version, forced into it because the 1-version is slyly boobytrapped to shut down if the traffic gets high.... read, lots of notes. And it's just too useful to do without once you've employed it.

Good morning again!

Thanx for the replies!

Re: Programming Interface (API) available ?

Use loopMidi, it's free.

Tested myself, works fine.
