Topic: Corrupt 7z file?

Trying to extract Linux version of Pianoteq Stage fails.
7za e pianoteq_stage_linux_v421.7z
Error: Can not open file as archive

Same error using 7za x or t.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Corrupt 7z file?

What does "file pianoteq_stage_linux_v421.7z" say?  Should say
pianoteq_stage_linux_v421.7z 7-zip archive data, version 0.2
Extract with the "x" option, "e" does not work correctly.  I do not have the stage version, otherwise I'd give you the md5sum for this file.   Have you tried downloading the file a 2nd time?

Downloaded a 3rd time and it worked.

Re: Corrupt 7z file?

I successfully fixed some of my corrupted 7z archive by using an advanced recovery tool. It was SysInfoTools Archive Recovery tool that helped me recover my data from corrupted 7z archives. First I tried its free demo version by which I saw my data in the preview session. Then I purchased its licensed version to save the recovered data.

If corruption is severe in 7z files and you have no other option left, you can try it. First go for its demo version. I always recommend users to try demo or trial version first before buying full or licensed version.

Hope it will help you.
