Topic: Like a real one (video)

While we are waiting for PT5, i decided to experiment with sound of current version.
Is pianoteq 4.5 far from reality? For the start let's hear video.

Look like this, pianoteq feels as is more real. wonderful~ !

Re: Like a real one (video)

Fantastic.  Would love to get my hands on that FXP file (Bluethner wood chord).

Re: Like a real one (video)

The sound it's quite natural overal.

The image looks a bit synthetic...
Too much compression vídeo artefacts.

Re: Like a real one (video)

Scorpio, i wrote you a letter.
Beto, unfortunately, original video quality of this performance isn't high

Okay. All appearances, everyone loved the way it sounded. But it is not finale))

Round II. Vsti comparison.

Let’s compare Pt4 with different virtual instruments. For that purpose Schumann’s Symphonic etudes are a perfect material. 2 sampled pianos (Imperfect samples Fazioli and Ivory 1 German Concert Grand D), 1 hybrid (True Pianos Atlantis module) and 1 full physically modelled piano (Pianoteq 4.5 Bluthner add-on). The same midi-file, 12 excerpts from different variations.
Serhii Morozov, piano (piano-e-competition, 2002)

Note: I used the same preset for PT as in the previous video (may be it is not good for comparison).

Re: Like a real one (video)

I don't understand why some people love True Pianos.

For me it sounds and feels poor.

Seriously. It sounds like the sound banks of my entry-level Korg. Not too bad, for an empty level keyboard, but so impersonal...

Ivory is really good, though, and the imperfect Fazioli still has its say, even if this latter lack a little bit of "body" (difficult to explain).

PTQ is a little lacking in the high-range, IMHO, while it has no rivals for low-range notes and all the resonance effect.
