Topic: triggering specific presets with midi controls

Other VSTIs I've used allow selection of specific Pianoteq presets using midi control numbers for midi msb and lsb numbers. Is this feature available through Pianoteq?

Re: triggering specific presets with midi controls

You can link each preset to a program change if you want.

Hard work and guts!

Could you clarify what you mean that?

Let's say I want to create a setup on my PC3 which will call up "D4 Jazz BA". Pianoteq is set for Midi Channel 3 in my host. What's next?

Re: triggering specific presets with midi controls

Go into the preset browser, find D4 Jazz BA preset, click on MIDI dropdown for that preset and choose "Assign MIDI event", send the Program Change you want to assign for this preset from your MIDI controller.

Excellent! Thank you.

Re: triggering specific presets with midi controls

I'm missing something in this process. I assign a midi event to a preset. It works as long as Pianoteq is open, but when I close and reopen Pianoteq, the midi event has not saved in the Preset Manager.  I've also tried saving the preset under My Presets, but the assigned midi event still is not saved when I reopen Pianoteq. So why is it not saving my setting?

Re: triggering specific presets with midi controls

Oh, right. You gotta go to Options->MIDI and save your MIDI mapping, then set it as default.

Hard work and guts!

Thanks again. The Pianoteq manual leave some things to be desired.
