Topic: FXP Top 10 (or Top 20)... An idea...

The actual FXP it's quite a very large list.

Many people can feel a bit lost there.

What about create a Top 10 or Top 20 list about the best FXPs of pianoteq?

Despite the FXP Corner page have a option to filter by Rating, it include many old FXP, from old pianoteq models, when the technology was not so refined.

I like that idea. When I sort the list according to rating, it is not a weighted average -- something with one vote and a 5-star rating will be ranked higher than something with 10 votes and a 4.9 average (which may have gotten 9 5-star votes!).

I don't know if it's possible, but it also would be nice for users who are not the FXP owner to be able to enter comments on a particular FXP, in addition to a rating.

But neither of these is a fundamental complaint -- the FXP Corner is still a lot of fun to browse!  (My biggest disappointment is with FXPs that don't have preview MP3s -- it's fun to listen before we "buy" )

I don't comment much on this forum because I am a relative newbie. I feel compelled to take the opportunity to say congratulations to Kysinc for the Bosendorfer Challenge FXP. It, in my view is the most highly regarded and rated FXP of the Pianoteq 4 generation. 17 individuals took the time to give it a 4.7 rating which says a lot, with 566 downloads currently. No other FXP comes close with regard to the number of ratings and downloads combined. There are a number of FXPs rated 5 but relatively few took the time to register a rating.

I thank all the FXP posters because I do use and enjoy the other FXPs. I myself am not as skilled. I have tried to compare Ksyinc's Bosendorfer_Challenge FXP to the Galaxy Vienna Grand and the Ivory II Bosendorfer using the test midi file from the DP Shootout by Purgatory Creek and it seems to compare quite favorably given the vast differences between the two recorded acoustics.

I wish that Ksyinc had more space to comment on some of the choices that she/he made. Anyway Ksyinc thank you for your effort, I really like it.
