Topic: Newbie question on partial pedalling

I'm using the trial version of Pianoteq (4.5.1 if it makes any difference).

I've found that the partial pedalling is very fierce - the MIDI output from the pedal goes from 0 to 127, but when I gradually release the pedal the sound doesn't seem to start decaying until the pedal reaches about 70, and is complete when the pedal reaches about 40 (a rather unscientific test, I agree). It's rather like a piano which I had the bad fortune to perform some Grainger on - he demanded a gradual release and it just didn't happen. My Steinway at home is fine!

Is there some way of adjusting this? I can't find it in the manual, nor by looking through the various settings.

The keyboard that I'm borrowing is on short-term loan so I need to know by Monday!

On the Pianoteq display window there is a keyboard velocity map towards the bottom left. If you click on the arrow at the top right or left of this map you can access a similar map labelled 'Pedal'. This will enable you to adjust the partial pedalling response.

Thanks John, that's just what I needed. Much better now.

Do you know if it's possible to vary this response throughout the range? I find that it's still a bit fierce on the bass if I get it to damp the treble enough? I have to admit that each acoustic piano is different here.
