....what do you guys think about it?
(if it had a linux version, i'd consider maybe buying it instead of pianoteq, but anyway.....)

i don't think you choose the right place to speak about it...

For me, as i own the pack of three pianos, it is The answer...
I must admit that this is "The Piano Sound". I find back the emotions and feelings that I had at the time when it was possible for me to play on a Shimmel (maybe it was a quarter of a tail) when I use the "German" preset ...

Nope, I didn't try True Keys, but I wasn't particularly compelled by the demos.

do you mean:
you have a real piano,
you have Truepianos from 4Front,
or you have True Keys piano from VI Labs,
...

I have it and I like it.
However, I have difficulty getting much volume out of it.
Also, I rarely use any software piano as the only sound I am using. I blend my ES7 sound with the software sound. TruePianos works well for that.

I've got both Pianoteq and True Pianos. I like them both, though I think Pianoteq sounds more authentic. In my opinion its versatility (pro version) allows you to get a sound the very close to the sound of True Pianos.
Both are small files on your computer. Modartt upgrade Painoteq frequently and has better interaction with its members.

I see no point in use a extremelly small sampled library.
-You have no adavantages of true modelling (only filters and scripts to try mimic some few effects).
-You have no advanteges of large quality sampled libraries.
You only got a very small space required, and that's not a importante thing today, considering modern memory and HDs capacity.

I did not (and never do) consider any of those things. All I care about is the sound.
If the sound I hear is the same sound I imagine I would be hearing if I was sitting in a dimly lit cocktail bar with a famous jazz musician "tinkling" the keys gently in the background .... then I like it.
Can't say that TruePianos reached that level ... but I liked it, anyway.
