Topic: Different versions?

Hi all,

I have the Pianoteq 4.5.1 and I am unable to get my sequencer program Power Track to recognize it. Is it possible that I need to use the VST version rather than stand alone program in order for it to work? And if so, how do I get the VST version? My version has the built in recorder/playback. Thanks DP

Re: Different versions?

Yes, standalone is exactly that - standalone, it is used on its own.

If you didn't change any options when installing Pianoteq, you should have the VST plugin versions installed as well somewhere. If not, just run the installer again.

Hard work and guts!

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I look in the Steinberg folder and see the pianoteq4 with the dll extension. This however was advised by the sequencer that this is not a valid plug in. You mentioned run the installer again and that means uninstall it then log on user area to activate the second time? Thanks DP

Re: Different versions?

All you need to do is uninstall Pianoteq, then install it again and when prompted during the installation process select to install both the standalone and the plugin versions. Each DAW has different requirements. So install either VST or one of the other plugin versions. If you are not sure which one, you can install all three plugins. You will not need to activate a second time, if you are doing this on the same computer. Hope this helps...

Re: Different versions?

Greetings to all,

Finally I got it to work. The problem is that my sequencer does not recognize the 64 bit version so I have download the 32 bit one. Once this is done, I load the VSTi and Pianoteq4 finally appears. I wonder why the 64 bit vesion is not recognized? DP

Re: Different versions?

Because you cannot load a 64-bit plugin in a 32-bit DAW without a bit-bridge.

Hard work and guts!
