Topic: Polyphony

Hi, my silent sistem mounted on my vertical acoustic piano (quiettime magic star v 4.0S) has a maximum polyphony of 128 (technical characteristics) so I've setup into Pianoteq the Maximum Polyphony to 128, is it right ?
Or should I setup a bigger value ? Like 256 ?

Thanks, regards.

Roberto.

Re: Polyphony

If your computer will allow you to run Pianoteq with 256 voices of polyphony, I would encourage you to do so.

Why?  Just by holding down the sustain pedal, and repeatedly playing a series of fast full 10-finger chords with two hands, you are able to outrun 128 polyphony -- even though your controller thinks ITs maximum is 128 polyphony.

Cheers,

Joe

Re: Polyphony

Controller polyphony has absolutely no relation to Pianoteq polyphony. If your controller has its own sound generating engine (as it seems to be), then its 128 notes of polyphony pertains only to that sound engine, NOT to the MIDI data that's being output from it to the outside world.

Hard work and guts!

Very well stated, Mr. Dragon.
