Topic: Devices settings page

Hi, I'm a newbie on Pianoteq 4 (I own the Stage version) and would like to know more about the "Audio Buffer Size" and Sample rate on "Devices settings page" accessible through the Options button present on the Pianoteq interface.

Actually my values are:
- Sample rate: 44100 Hz
- Audio Buffer Size: 64 samples (1.5 ms)

My pc is an iMac Late 2009 with 12Gb of RAM and OSX Lion.

Which settings should I use ? Different of previous one ? Should I raise up the Sample rate value ? Should I use a different Audio Buffer Size value ? If I set, i.e., it to 1984 samples (45.0 ms) which will be the difference ?

Thanks, regards, Roberto.

First, to understand buffers and sample rates and how they work together, see:

As you know, the settings you use will be influenced by the machine you have but after you know what is going on, you can probably experiment and find what works best for you.
