Topic: Sustain pedal

Wonder if I could get advice from users of Pianoteq regarding the following:  I use GarageBand and like it but really dislike one thing... on two of the grand piano sounds, using the sustain pedal on my controller results in dropped/missing notes on the recording.  This is a much-discussed topic in the GarageBand forums but I haven't seen a solution to the problem.  Even the people at Apple weren't able to help.  So... I'm on the verge of buying Pianoteq and installing it and using it with the GarageBand program in place of their keyboard sounds.  Will this solve my problem?  Will using the sustain pedal have normal results on the piece of music I'm playing?  Will I again find that some of the notes I'm playing don't sound?  Hope I've made myself clear.  Any advice or recommendations would be welcome before I actually buy Pianoteq.

Re: Sustain pedal

Why not try the free Pianoteq demo and see if it works for you?

Re: Sustain pedal

Thanks very much, I did that and the sustain pedal worked just fine, so I bought the Pianoteq Play version today.

Re: Sustain pedal

One issue you may find with Garageband is that the sustain input records either 0 or 127 with no intermediate values. (Apple may have fixed this, I don't know.) This was one of the reasons I upgraded to Logic about five years ago.
