Topic: Clavichord Neupert add-on audio demo

There are only a few key instruments on which I did not put my hands up to now, the clavichord is one of the few remaining, but thanks to Pianoteq I finally did! Modartt has just released a Christmas gift that I really love so much, a wonderful add-on for Pianoteq 4, the historical clavichord Neupert, based on a "Modell Philipp Emanuel Bach", as part of Modartt's KIViR collection of historical instruments. So, I also wanted to make a small gift to all of you posting this short audio demo which I recorded of a wonderful C. P. E. Bach's short Fantasy in D minor.

Very nice . .  would be extra special to have it as a midi file too . .   fun to try out on different preset mods.

Really nice and interesting videos, often we teacher forget to give our students a little historic knowledge about Piano, therefore I'm going to share this video with all of them. Well done!

I didn't know you are a piano teacher. Speaking in the good friendly way, you a bit look more like a rock guitar teacher who enjoys piano and classics.

I say that cause your guitar emulation performance in your site rock on.

Yes I know, many people say the same things, or maybe just keep that in the thoughts.. I do not have problems about that because it's my nature and instinct, it's simply my "Gemini" soul. ;-)

But yes, first of all I'm a classical musician, Organist and Composer graduated at the Italian Music Conservatory, sharing the passion with the Rock and Metal music. In fact, my recording releases alternate Classical/New-Age and Metal albums. Pianoteq is my great mate offering me awesome solutions both for Classical and Metal recordings. Especially, on the Metal pieces I use the Grand YC5, on the Classical side the new Grand D4 and Bluthner.

Re: Clavichord Neupert add-on audio demo

I imagine you ocasionally suffer prejudice if people saw you playing metal before saw you in a classic piano.

What about some rock using harpsichords and chavichord ?

That would be challenging...
I remamber a comedy film with John Goodman, where he uses a harpsichord to play rock (I think it was Good Golly Miss Molly) It was a bit forced, but fun.

Found it now:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIjLSoDCpb8

But I imagine something more sofisticated, cause in this film look like they just tranfered the piano performance to harpsichord, using some equalizing to help.

Are you able to get the right hand sequence of this piano solo intro ?

(the begining, left hand, it's easy, but the right hand, startting in 1:05, get complicated.)

No no, I do not suffer any prejudice, it's just funny to me! ;-)

Concerning the Harpsichord in the Rock/Metal music, well that's what I do on my Metal albums such as "Dragon Fire" or the previous "Messenger of the Gods" and on many other recordings I made for my side projects and as session player.

Concerning the Piano Rock, Ragtime, Boogie pieces, I didn't know the piece you mention and linked here, but I played "Honky Tonk Train Blues" which sounds pretty similar to this one...  ;-)

PS: I'm playing here Pianoteq 4, YC5 preset.
