Topic: Problem with Bechstein model in PTQ4 Stage?

I've always loved Bechstein pianos, but must admit I've been very disappointed with the thin, twangy sound of the 1896 model in PTQ4 Stage.

Tonight, I thought I'd read up on the website about this model, and I listened to the demo. I heard a full, warm sound that was much closer to what I would have expected. Then I compared the preset in the standalone player - it sounds nothing like the audio demo!

Anyone else noticing a similar problem?

Well, there is only one mp3 audio demo of bechstein add-on on pianoteq site, and it's not a piano solo. The other instruments make the mp3 sound special, richer.

And you don't know what preset was used, or if it have some personal alteration of settings.

This Bechstei add-onn it's from a old piano model, about 100 year old, tunned for bright.

And this add-on have about 3 years. Today pianoteq new models are better.

Re: Problem with Bechstein model in PTQ4 Stage?

What about using the AMP from EFFECTS section to make the sound of Bechstein more grown up?

I tried the warm combo preset first. I use the drive slider to give a little bit more character and overtones - but not to overdrive it.  Bass and mid slider I use to make a fuller sound, bass not more than 0.3, mid up to 0.55, but mid more than bass. And treble less than bass.

Then I compared the sounds, Bechstein with and without AMP. When I miss something in the soundspectrum, I let treble rise until it seems right to me.

Maybe they used the AMP in that demo.
