Topic: Kawai vs. Korg

Hi everybody!
I´m going to buy a new piano and I´m not quiet sure about witch stage piano want the most, or the one who fit me best, Kawai MP-8 II or the new Korg vintage stage piano. Can I please get some help? I listen a lost to Muse, Franz Ferdinand and Jamie Cullum. And does any body know if you can get a church organ sound on the korg, maybe through the USB port? Anyway, can some body help me? What would you choose? And why?

Hello Raldoh,

Before limiting your choices of stage piano to Kawai and Korg, I suggest that you look into the Yamaha P140.  It has a nice weighted action, and does include a few church organs in its sounds.

Cheers,

Joe

I´m not looking for that type of piano, more a professional stage piano. But thanks anyway

Yamaha CP1 (top of the range) http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musica...e=overview
or CP5 (next one down) http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musica...e=overview
You won't go wrong with one of these if you want a well built stagepiano. They've only just come out! Check out the links and at least try one before you make your final decision!

The CP1 won't be around for awhile, and will cost an arm and a leg, and won't have any organ samples from what i can tell....I would either look at the RD 700GX or the Yamaha CP 300.  both are at the higher end of current offerings- $2000-$2500 US, have competent acoustic pianos, electric pianos, and organs.   i own the p-250 (predecessor to p-300) and it is built like a tank and it starts every morning even in cold weather.......:-)...... to me the yamaha is built better than the RD, but i like the RD's voices better, particularly their EP's and organs... you could also look at their little brothers- the RD 300GX (or maybe that's SX..?) and the CP33.  they are less expensive and do a lot of the same things/ same voices..regarding my p-250-  i don't love its sounds, but they certainly are competent particularly for live performance ...

Re: Kawai vs. Korg

well you got my curious about the Korg.  listening to the demos on the Korg site- they sounded nice!  but i can't tell you how many times i've said that and changed my mind down the road.

but i think at $2200 bucks it is an interesting candidate relative to the roland and yamaha offerings.. i like the way it looks..
