Topic: pianoTEQ - less than 1000 registered users!!!
In the few years that pianoTEQ has been up and running, it has gained merely <1000 users! Why? I think that this fact is very dissappointing to say the least. Many, many more people could and should be aware of this amazing tool. To be honest, I only found out about it accidentally while looking for the best sample library. Needless to say, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole now! The big names out there seem to want to continue to push inferior sampled instruments rather than knuckling down and doing the math! And then you get the so called die hards who say 'You can never get the sound of a real piano - there's nothing like a real one.' - Well of course not - so why do many of them buy sampled pianos? I know I'm on a rant here, but hey, <1000 users? There's something seriously wrong with people choosing samples over modelled synths! Maybe it's an education thing like anything else, I don't know. Or maybe, just maybe, Modartt want to remain small for those who really appreciate authentic piano dynamics and superb playabilty? I would never look elsewhere until there was something else at least on a par with pianoTEQ - and even then, pianoTEQ would remain in my arsenal. But nothing comes close IMHO!
