Topic: Program Changes

Hello,

2 Questions:

Q1: I understand about Program Changes for the presets, but what of .fxp files? Can these be changed via Program Changes? And if so, how?

Q2: How are .ptq files created?

Thank you!

Re: Program Changes

I think what you do is load a fxp file then save that into your presets.  You can then assign it via program change along with your other presets.

I guess .ptq files are code that made new instruments but as far as I know only Modartt can make new ones.

Re: Program Changes

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

How then do you access the presets (.fxp) files from a program change. I see that .ptq files are stored in the Addons folder and the .fxp files are stored in the Presets folder. Do I just put the .fxp files in the Addon folder?

Re: Program Changes

Try Options\Midi. Below and to the right of the lower list, you can click on Insert, and then click in the left column to choose the command (Program change...) and then to the right to choose what you want it to do. (Change to the next preset or to the instrument.) Or you can set up other cc's to make the change. Remember to save the new settings and to set them as the default by clicking on the orange bar in the center of this Midi pane.

EDIT: I said earlier that scrolling with arrows in the Preset list changes the preset. Not true. I would have sworn that it did. Sorry.
