Topic: Is Pianoteq 16 or 24 bit? And question about sample rates...

I see "internal sample rate" under "Performance" up to 44kHz, and "sample rate" under "Devices" up to 96kHz. What "devices" is that referring to? Certainly not my Mbox, because that supports 48kHz max. Would there be performance issues if I open a 48kHz Pro Tools session while Pianoteq's internal sample rate is 44kHz?

And is Pianoteq 16 or 24 bit? And would there be performance issues if this setting didn't match the bit depth of the Pro Tools session it's in?

Re: Is Pianoteq 16 or 24 bit? And question about sample rates...

Hi Joshua,

The internal sample rate is the one that the Pianoteq engine works with. You can adjust this in case needed, for example to ease the load on the CPU. The host sample rate is the one set for the sound card. If you want, you can have a higher sample rate for the sound card and a lower for the Pianoteq engine.

Pianoteq works with 32-bit float audio. During audio export, you can choose to export it in 32-bit (high quality setting) or 16-bit. There should be no performance issues involved in Pro Tools.
