Topic: midi player

I like listening to pianoteq playing midi files. I'd like to be able to drag and drop a folder of midi files onto the interface which pianoteq would then play for me, in some sensible order, on the instrument which I'd chosen in advance. And playlists would be nice.

But maybe there's an easy way to do this using tools outside of pianoteq: if so, what?

As you may have noticed, I'm a pianoteq newbie... And a passive rather than an active music lover.

Re: midi player

Pianoteq currently only supports playing one MIDI file at a time.

Theoretically, you could use a method like this:

1. download and install a dedicated MIDI player: I can think of WinGroove as a free example
2. download and install a virtual MIDI cable driver: I'm using Maple Virtual MIDI Cable.
3. you'll need to restart your PC after installing this.
4. upon restart, open Wingroove, and set its MIDI Out to one of Maple's MIDI Outs
5. in Pianoteq, go to Options->Devices and tick "Listen to all MIDI inputs"
6. load up a folder of MIDI files in WinGroove
7. enjoy!

Oh, I hope you're not on Mac because this won't work then

Also, this is only for having a playlist. You'll have to switch Pianoteq instruments manually between the files!

Hard work and guts!

Re: midi player

Thanks @EvilDragon ! BTW I listened to your music and liked it (I wanted to download the mp3's so I could hear them offline, but I couldn't find out how to do that easily).

Yes ... I'm afraid I am a macophile and a microsoftophobe. But similar tools must be there for mac, too. And if the worst comes to the worst I could do all this inside a virtual Windoze PC ... (thanks to Parallels Virtual Desktop).

Re: midi player

If you mean on my band's music on our MySpace, we have deactivated user download option ^_^

Sorry about being on Mac. It's so much weirder Well, Windows 7 are coming and those are gonna be VERY GOOD anyways, so you should at least consider it

Hard work and guts!

Re: midi player

I already have Windows 7 (beta) on my mac...

Re: midi player

I don't know but can't you do it in Garageband?

God Bless!
