I don't want to distract anyone from the work on the great pianos and the pro version.
But in some future, post-pro version in a few years, gongs would be good. Big brass gongs, with the ability to control the size, mallet hardness and size, and strike point. Might be a popular add-on. GongTeq?
I remember mentioning this in an e-mail to Our Supreme Team a while ago (since they did such a good job with the vibes and the bells) -- anything from splish-splash gongs to the massive orchestral tam-tam variety, maybe even some ancient Chinese flavours! While gongs can seem to be rather "one-dimensional," they sure do cover a _lot_ of territory and can be _amazingly_ musical. And I don't mean just in the "noise" category...

Funny about gongs--there's a nearby music store that has three 30" brass gongs hanging in their percussion room, and whenever I go in, just about everyone takes a run at them. Every five minutes, there's the light throb of someone giving one a touch, and then giving in to temptation and smacking it. The people who work there are either very indulgent or canny--they have to put up with the sound, but they seem to sell them fairly regularly.
Ever had a massage from a 6 ft. nipple gong ? I attended Futureman's (of Bela Fleck) percussion workshop a few years ago and that was one of the perks. RoyEl also debuted a keyboard controller based on phi, the golden ratio.

I hope you'll pardon me if I say that I don't know what's being talked about, here. You got your gongs, your parts of the anatomy, and your 6 feet, but I don't see how it all comes together. Are you sure we're in New Orleans? Lafitte's Blacksmith what? Is this really my seventh beer?
(Or is this a well-known thing, this nipple gong? If so, please don't let the heavy metal folks know.)

Since we've sidestepped into typical male whimsy, it may be appropriate to bring up something which I've noticed for a while now. Where are the women ? Is Pianoteq just too geeky ? Or do the Pianoquettes just find forums a waste of good playing time...? I do find it unusual, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a single female has ever pronounced on this forum. Surely MIDI doesn't stand for Male Instrument Digital Iterface... Do we need a WIDI ? Even the Pianoteq team is all male... which is surprising as the graphic interface actually doesn't look like Halo meets Laura Croft. Must be the marketing. How did we all hear about this monster in the first place...? Oh yeah... I saw it on the bathroom wall: For a good time, Pianoteq....
re: no women, maybe they find the term "physical modelling" a bit too shallow, and we need to come up with something more sophisticated.

We are getting a bit off topic here but to focus on the subject of women, although men are in vast majority, we can confirm that there are actually quite many Pianoteq customers who are women and some of these are well known (successful concert pianists and composers).

They just don't "hang around these here parts," so to speak... (The forum, that is -- at least none have posted of which I am aware.)
Any chance any of them would publicly endorse Pianoteq? _Any_ big name would make for excellent promotion, but I'm _always_ seeing ads for music gear & software that exclusively feature males -- having a lady or two praise your program would be a _major_ PR boost!
What about invite those great pianists, who use pianoteq, to create a video of a performing, to the forum?
