Topic: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Hello.

I was very happy to read about the new version coming out soon, as this just might get my decision to buy Pianoteq closer than ever
But I must ask first:
Is this new version going to be available for Receptor users?

Thanks,
Roy

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Hi Roy,

It won't we available immediately, unfortunately. There are some technical issues that we are trying to sort out with Muse Research.

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Thanks for the fast reply.

Pianoteq 2 however is running well on Receptor am I right?

Would you say that those technical issues are only a matter of time to solve or is there a chance that ver. 3 won't work on Receptor at all?
In other words, if I purchase ver. 2 now, can I be sure that I only need patience (more than others...) until I can upgrade to ver. 3 on my Receptor?

Roy.

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

To be honest I can't say yet. Currently pianoteq 3 is randomly crashing our receptor, I don't know yet if it is just our receptor which has a hardware defect, or if it is a problem with the receptor software itself. For now, we are waiting for some feedback from Muse Research. We will do our best to get it to work !

(yes pianoteq 2 runs smoothly on receptor, but pianoteq 3 is a 90% rewrite so it is quite a different beast)

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Again thank you so much for the information.

I hope you will be able to update us with the results with Muse Reaserch.
I know I'll look forward to it

Roy.

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Very sorry to hear this - I would likely buy PT today after playing with the demo all day yesterday, if I thought the new version would be Receptor compatable pretty soon. As it is, I enjoy playing version 2 and might purchase anyway.

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Any progress here yet?

If not, is it possible to purchase V3 and install V2 on my Receptor and V3 on my laptop? (will I have to downgrade or somthing?)

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

No news from Muse yet. Yes you can buy pianoteq either on our store or on plugorama and then request a cross-grade, there is a small fee to pay for the cross-grade (I don't recall how much -- feel free to drop an email to sales@ptq), and then you can use ptq 2 on your receptor and pianoteq 3 on your computers.

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Muse is notorious for their very slow response, unfortunately.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

I am chomping at the bit, as they say, for this to happen. I will buy Pianoteq the second I hear that version 3 is working on Receptor....
Have really been enjoying the demo version on my home computer.

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Anxiously awaiting this capability...

Thanks for the version 3 update by the way

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

I used Pianoteq 2 with my Receptor Pro Jr. and had great results.  I just upgraded my Pro Jr. to a Receptor Pro 2 and am having trouble with Pianoteq 2.  The modeled piano signal is interrupted by a buzz followed by 3-5 seconds of no signal and then I get signal back.  Unfortunately, I can no longer use pianoteq or the receptor when I gig, or ever.  I hope that this issue will be addressed and fixed soon.  Better yet--get Pianoteq 3 up and running.

2days later--after spending a lot of time with Muse Tech support we found the bug.  If Dual processor rendering is active in the options panel in Pianoteq2, you may experience the CPU spike that I was getting on my Receptor Pro 2.  Once I unchecked it, it worked fine.

A response of any kind would be appreciated...even something like:

"We have no intention of supporting the Receptor"

or

"We believe the Receptor is a dead end product"

or

"Layering three instances of Pianoteq 3 can cause your computer to burst into flames."

Hello?

Thanks,
JR

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

I agree - Pianoteq wants to be the No.1 live piano VSTi instrument for the gigging musicians,
and Muse Receptor wants to be the No.1 VSTi host for the gigging musician...

...if the two aren't compatible, it's a bit rubbish!

All the big-name pro plugins work on Muse Receptor, if Pianoteq doesn't, it makes it look like it's not a serious piece of software! :-O

Re: Pianoteq 3 on Receptor ?

Muse got the v3.0.5, they are working on it. Last time I heard from them they were quite happy with the version that we supplied to them so I think the release is now really near, but that is all I can say unfortunately.

It is also very likely that it will run only on receptor OS v1.8.
