Topic: GarageBand '09 freezes when Pianoteq instantiated

Any GarageBand users find the same problem? I have GB up on an iMac 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, OS X 10.5.7 with all the current updates, latest Pianoteq 3 updated (AWESOME, love it Phillippe!!!) and all runs well until I pull up Pianoteq, suddenly GB becomes unresponsive. Pressing PLAY for example can take 30 seconds until it works, same to stop again.  Sometimes the program stops responding entirely. The issue does not exist in Logic 8, Pianoteq performs flawlessly.

I have read that people have experienced a similar issue with some propheads stuff, which I don't use.

So frustrating, because I teach composition to young children who are overwhelmed by Logic, but do amazing things with GarageBand.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Hmm, works fine here – I have basically the same setup as you describe, except in a Macbook Pro instead of an iMac.

Perhaps post a GB song file where the problem appears?

Otherwise – you might be better helped on a GB/Apple audio forum, especially since you mention this seems to be a GB problem also affecting other products...
