I can only imagine what Pianoteq will do in the future, like true 5 channel surround, auto room EQ (ala Audyssey), 1023 velocity levels like Disklaviers, bypassing MIDI delay through use of mLAN, etc. The possibilities are endless.

I would add asking QuikQuak for implementing the RaySpace reverb, which enables you to DRAW your own rooms, and place the position of the listener in regards to speakers! That is an amazing possibility!

Hard work and guts!

Re: Interesting post from Harmony Central

It will not surprise if people ask to add a intelligent algorithm to simulate a audience booing if you play bad.

Modelled booing...

Re: Interesting post from Harmony Central

Hahaha, good one!

But you have to admit that those suggestions are really good.

Re: Interesting post from Harmony Central

What about add the materials to each wall, the woods, the muslin, the steel structure on top???.

If you want a pretty good simulation...

I trialed this software a couple of years ago whilst trying to find an answer for a lack of native convolution reverb in Hauptwerk.  I've now tried Rayspace, ImpulseModeler/PristineSpace and CATT-Acoustic's FIReverb for convolving dry pipe organ samples and whilst none of them is very realistic, RaySpace is the least-convincing by a long way (apart from in the real-time resource-usage department).

Having said that, the results might be less artificial with PTQ3 since the sound "source" is already diffuse and my experience with reverb software has shown that with a non-diffuse source, the results will always sound like a non-diffuse source with added reverb.

I haven't yet tried convolving PTQ output with FIReverb, mostly because I've not practised anything up to recital standard for a while.

Re: Interesting post from Harmony Central

The thing is that Rayspace isn't convolution reverb by any chance, it is realtime modelled, just like Pianoteq

So you can't really compare apples and oranges.

Hard work and guts!

With settings like "Rite of Spring," "Amy Winehouse," "Jessica Simpson," and "Roberto Alagna" (heck, "La Scala" period!).

Gotta have some occasional spoken "heckling," too!

Heck, we could even add a "Thrown Items" menu, which will place the proper smash, crash, squish, sploosh, or scrunch sounds at random intervals!

;^)

(Actually, this would be an _hysterical_ novelty, especially if one uses it for a player who isn't expecting it...)

Re: Interesting post from Harmony Central

Don't forget 'high voltage warnings' if your playing far below average....
Sort of a 'kick me up'...
Or an auto-shutdown, with obviously a last minute-warning before it occurs.

And if we get materials to choose from, can we also choose the quality and/or state of decay of the material? and woodworms....and...and.....
Did I mention rusty strings yet?

Re: Interesting post from Harmony Central

I presume Amy Winehouse will not live enough to see this new technology implementation.

If a algorithm could split the screen in two, distort the sound, getting slow and fast by unlinear intervals, or get the screen rotating and colors changing, it would simulate the "music feeling" of much of those addicted music celebrities.

Another idea is to use artificial inteligence to add a jury in a extra window from pianoteq.

No, more like, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... crap."

Well, here goes:  "I dreamed a dream..."  %^)

Actually, I want the "American Idol" lineup -- I'm absolutely _dying_ for Randy Jackson to call me "Dawg!"  Then I can _literally_ die laughing.
