Topic: Headphone Position

This is a general question to the designers and anyone else to open up discussion:

The default position for the headphones with "C3 Binaural" is about where a listener would stand if he was standing talking to the pianist.

Has anyone tried positioning the 'phones so they are where a pianist's head would be if he was standing up and leaning over the music rack with his head above the dampers?  This requires rotating the phones so that the arrow is pointing up parallel to the length of the piano.

For my ears, I find this gives a strong clear sound that is not muffled.

Depending on the piece, I may add reverb.

I may add that to a great extent, the appropriateness of any fpx depends on one's sound system.

Comments pro or con and discussion very welcome.

Glenn

Re: Headphone Position

Hi Glenn

Kind of sounds a bit like a "Keith Jarrett" this  "hunched over the dampers" position.  I'll try it out with a transcription of Over the Rainbow and give you my verdict later.

Also note that when you move the cursor over the mic you get arrows. The forward direction arrow allows you to resize the mic. Just click, hold down and drag to size.
