Topic: Another unknown composition

I have uploaded a midi file called 027 Chopin maybe into the "Files" area.

I've tried the Melodic Contour method with no success.

Hoping someone will recognize it.

Yes, I recognize it, but it's not from Chopin !
It's the 3rd Gymnopedie from Erik Satie, a french composer who I like so much for his dreaming and relaxing piano pieces.
You can find a free score of it here.

Thanks Nico.

The reason I thought it might be Chopin was that several months ago, I DL'd a number of midis (forgot from where), and it was amongst about twenty Chopin compositions.

However, having listened to and rendered dozens of Chopin pieces, it really didn't sound like one of his.

Thanks again.

Doesn't appear to be public domain -- it's definitely the transcription by Myra Hess.  I'm google-ing without success.  All I find are performances.  (I _love_ Nelson Freire.  I saw him perform Beethoven's 4th piano concerto here in Baltimore two weeks ago.  Outstanding!)

"Our developers, who art in Toulouse, hallowed be thy physical-models.
Thy version 4 come, thy new instruments be done, in the computer as it is in the wood!"

I have the midi file, do you want it?

Re: Another unknown composition

Thank you for the offer.

Well, if it's not in public domain, I don't know if Niclas would agree about you send it, cause the forum rules do not allow exchange of music sheet or files that are stil in copyright.

Niclas, what you say about it?

Yes, the piano transcription by Myra Hess is not under public domain. It is thus required to get the copyright holder's permission to upload it here.

Re: Another unknown composition

Oops. Checked the rules...Sorry !
