Topic: feature request: multi outs

In trying to get a particular tone using mic placement, I keep wanting to EQ to get better isolation between different mics.
Seems this would be alleviated by using directional mics, but for now, it'll help if each mic output could be routed to the host on different channels.

Re: feature request: multi outs

Hi Kensuguro,
you can rout each mic output to any channel: in the mic section, clicking in the mix matrix lets you adjust level and delay for each mic into each output channel (via the 2 sliders that appear on the left after clicking). For example, if you click in line #1 column #2, you will be adjusting level and delay of mic #2 into channel #1. Hope that helps.

oh oops! didn't realize that.  thanks, I'll see what I can do with it.  I'm like,  ya, maybe I should read the manual.  lol.

Re: feature request: multi outs

I think it would be a good idea if it also was possible to route the mics to different channels when working with Pteq-plugin in ProTools

Well, you are in charge of that.

For example, in Sonar 7 when I insert any softsynth, I have an option to "create an audio track for every plugin output available". So that's what I'd use if I wanted to get what you want here.

This is not up to plugin, it's up to the host.

Hard work and guts!

I do have such option in ProTools as well. I use this with Kontakt Player. It's just that there are no other outputs available than output 1 and 2 from Pianoteq.

You are right, Pianoteq did not support aux output channels in Pro Tools. This will be available in version 3.0.2

Hello Julien.

I am a new user of Pianoteq and I like it very much!

I am using Apple's Logic Pro 8 and would very much like to have the same feature for mutiple outputs. 5x mono outs for each mic would be great or perhaps a combo of 2x stereo 1x mono using all 5 mics.

Thank you so much for a great product.

Re: feature request: multi outs

Hi ricp,

We are working on it, it is quite a mess to do for audio-units, but I think we are not far of having something that works ! ( 5x mono or stereo with 3x mono)

Re: feature request: multi outs

Hi there,

The just released 3.0.3 update will allow you to use Aux channels for the mic outputs in Logic.

Thank you so much for this!! Fantastic job and it works perfectly in Logic 8.

I knew I made the right choice by purchasing Pianoteq!

Thanks again!!

Re: feature request: multi outs

hm... I tried this out for the first time now (to have multiple outputs in Logic 8). And it worked really good when I had stereo channels, but with 5 mono channels it send both out 1 and 5 to channel 1 and out 2 was send to channel 3, out 3 was send to channel 4 and out 4 to channel 5, so channel 2 was not used... Is it only me that had this problem???

Re: feature request: multi outs

This issue reminds me of something, by I can't recall what it was. Feel free to contact us at support (at) pianoteq.com , with a small Logic project attached that exhibits this issue. Don't forget to mention if this is the 64-bit AU pianoteq, or the 32-bit one (displayed in options / about panel).
