Topic: Fantom G + Pianoteq?

Hello,
I'm french and I'm brand new in music and MAO: I just start learning piano for 1 month...
I own a Fantom G8 keyboard: is it possible to play a Pianoteq preset on it without using my PC?
I mean I supposed I'll have to "sample" a piano preset (for example) and copy it in the internal memory of my Fantom (or a usb key?).
What do you think of it? Does someone ever done it? Other opinions?
I'm quite "lost"...
Thanks,
Alex

Re: Fantom G + Pianoteq?

Hi Alex

It wouldn't make sense really... Pianoteq's strength is that it does not use samples, sound is created by modeling the different aspects of the piano using your computer...
Ofcourse you could make a sample of Pianoteq's sound but you would end up with a sample that behaves like any other sampled piano...
You would have to make multisamples for specific parts of the keyboard for different levels etc.
So - really that doesn't make sense....

Re: Fantom G + Pianoteq?

Hi Hans,

Thanks for your answer.
You're right of course!
In fact I haven't considered that I can use Pianoteq as a standalone soft: I thought That using my DAW was necessary and I was wrong... Ah these newbies! ;-)
I thought Pianoteq was only a pure Vsti and neither had I think to use a VST Host, instead I use  Savihost for My Diva software synthesizer.

Cheers
Alex

Re: Fantom G + Pianoteq?

Hi Alex

Yes, you can indeed use Pianoteq as standalone as you have figured out in the meantime... I do that a lot if I just want to play solo or practice...
And hey - everyone starts out as newbie - the only question that is wrong is the one that you don't ask :-)
Have fun with Pianoteq and here on the forum...

cheers
Hans
