Topic: Pianoteq play on receptor 1 rev B

Hello,

Sorry if it was already discuss here but I haven't found my answer.
I'm a pianoteq play 3 owner and I'm on the way to buy an used receptor 1 rev B. Is it possible to load it on this one, or is there a crossgrade to a pianoteq play for receptor ?

Thanks

Re: Pianoteq play on receptor 1 rev B

V-Machine doesn't have a good enough CPU for Pianoteq, Shumas. It's only 1 GHz single core.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Pianoteq play on receptor 1 rev B

Here U can see a list of all tested and verified plugins, which work with V-Machine. http://www.smproaudio.com/index.php/en/...-database# , but this list not gives enough info. It loads, but maybe not plays. I play Pianoteq on small Mini iTX PC without problems .
Problem with V-Machine is, when I need to load very big sample libraries..., for it not enough RAM & HD capacity .

Re: Pianoteq play on receptor 1 rev B

Anyone with info on pianoteq play 3 on a receptor rev1.b ? I really don't wan't to try V-machine.

Re: Pianoteq play on receptor 1 rev B

I don't think it will work reliably. Pianoteq 3 has been known to trigger random freezes of the Receptor 1 -- this is something that was fixed in the Receptor 2 OS.

Yes. Pianoteq demo works...  2-3 note polyphony! I know, I have a V-Machine myself. It is only good for low-CPU VSTs, and it works well with VB3 for Hammond, and SQ8L for some great Ensoniq timbres... at least that's what I'm using it for.

OK thanks, that's bad news though. but at least it answer my question. Do you have any links to provide, I would like to read more about this ?

Pianoteq 3 works on my Rev C, but it does have a tendency to freeze while I am using the graphic interface...never during playing though. The problem is that the old Receptors (including those sold up to 2009) were based on 2004 hardware and software, and the platform just can't handle the more modern underlying code.

I believe it takes a specially compiled executable to make P3 work with an older Receptor, so you will have to inquire about that. By the way, I still have Pianoteq 2 installed and it actually sounds very good, so you might want to look into settling for that. You get that from the Plugorama website and it requires an iLok.

OK thanks, but do I need to buy a new licence ?! 300 hundred dollars is quite expensive compared to the 99euros I payed for Pianoteq play... And for an unknown result...

Contact Modartt directly (i.e. off-forum) and maybe you can work something out in terms of an older version of Pianoteq...then you pay the "cross-grade" fee of $25 (or so).

Re: Pianoteq play on receptor 1 rev B

Thanks for your advice, I will try something like this if I really buy this receptor.
