Topic: Steelpans !!! :-)

Hi Moddart

I will just say a BIG tank you for the new Steelpans add-on.
I sat and played yesterday evening especially with the Hand Pan and i'm really impressed.

The sound is so organic and not "digital" at all, and it's a pleasure to fiddle with mics settings and all the random parameters. The new Pianoteq engine is fantastic !

This add-on will get much use from me i'm sure
What a great piece of software !

Kind regards and thanks again
Ole

Re: Steelpans !!! :-)

Sorry to invade you topic...

But what is the name of th huge chinese metalic disk, suspended vertically, that we see in some movies, and that is played when someone enters in a temple or something like?

I suddenly got the urge for a drink in a tall, shapely vase with an umbrella sticking out...

Re: Steelpans !!! :-)

Beto: it's a "gong" that you are referring to I think.

Re: Steelpans !!! :-)

Waouh, absolutly great add on !

it sounds so musically, and i think yet about some next possible real natural other sounds that i hope in Pianoteq, rightly the sounds of that "huge chinese metalic disk, suspended vertically" :-)

Well : Gongs and orchestral Tam-tam will be absolutly helpful with the pianoteq behaviour,
and these other rich inharmonic metallic things like ...cymbals.

Life into percussion instruments, with the sympathetic resonances behaviour and all...

Thinking about this feature :
would it be possible, in more far future, to mix more than one instrument into the same keyboard, to have the same as a sort of "drum kit"... but well :
the Pianoteq Drum kit would have the absolutly unique fonction, that all the drum kit would be linked with this sympathetic resonance ! :

if the "timber" of a caisse claire is not put off, we could hear it sounding when playing some other percs on the same keyboard.

Then, possibility to link pianoteq instruments in ONE multitimbral midi channel instance of Pianoteq, so that we'll have the sympathetic resonance behavior between the selected instruments !

imagine that a piano FFF on channel 1 makes the Hand drum selected on channel 2 resonate ....
as like as in a real orchestra .........
