Topic: Problem saving MIDI mappings

Hi,

I'm able to assign MIDI controls to equalizer and velocity curve control points by right-clicking on the control point and choosing "Edit this control point". Then when I go into the MIDI Options screen I can see the assignments I've just set up in the list.

However as soon as I save the mappings, the assignments for the control points disappear. It looks like it's just the assignments for the control points that are disappearing - the other MIDI assignments are saved as I would expect.

Is this by design or a bug? Assigning MIDI controls to the control points is a really useful feature, but without being able to save the mappings it's really hard to use.

I'm using Pianoteq PLAY v3.6.6

Re: Problem saving MIDI mappings

Hi everyone,

I just stumbled over exactly the same problem: When assigning MIDI controls to equalizer points and saving the preset, the equalizer assignments simply vanish. This problem exists in the Standalone and VST x64 version of Pianoteq 4.0.3 Stage. (Didn't try x86.) As this happens in V3 and V4, it doesn't seem to be just a temporary bug. Can someone confirm this behaviour? What can I do about that?

EDIT: After looking a bit deeper, I noticed following:
When saving a MIDI mapping preset which contains equalizer control mappings, the resulting MIDI mapping file (.ptm) contains ALL mappings, including the ones for the equalizer! Still though, they disappear inside the options dialog and won't work.
When I save the preset now again, the equalizer mappings are removed from the .ptm file.

So, it seems that Pianoteq can't "read" any equalizer mappings from a MIDI mapping file and simply ignores them, thus not showing them in the mappings list. And when it's not shown, it's not mapped, despite the file entry. This surely must be a bug.

Re: Problem saving MIDI mappings

It is an issue that seems to be specific to the STAGE version -- this will be fixed in the next pianoteq update (next week)
