Topic: Pianoteq 4 SETUP help

My first post here, hi everyone...

Need some help with my pianoteq setup. I have the pianoteq stage version and intend to use it live with my laptop. My setup is:

Keyboard: Roland RD 300sx
Audio Interface: Roland Quad Capture
Amp: Roland Kc 350 amp
Laptop: Dual core 2.3 Ghz, 4Gb ram, Windows 7 64 bit

I know how to connect all components to get sound and play it. I recently got a dedicated audio interface (Quad capture) and man what a huge differance in sound quality over my internal laptop Realtek audio interface.

However, what I dont understand is the "internal sample" rate and my sound cards sample rate. Must they match? I see the quad capture can do 192Khz. How do I get the best sound out of the sound card?
How do I set the sample rates and settings for best live performance? Furthermore, what cables should I use to go out from the audio interface to the amp? Stereo jacks, speaker cables???

Thanks alot everyone

Re: Pianoteq 4 SETUP help

I recommend not going higher than 48000 (set your soundcard to that same sample rate as well). Why? Because 192k will increase the CPU load a lot.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Pianoteq 4 SETUP help

Agreed, with such an amp, 192 K is an absolute waste of CPU power, even 44.1 is 100% good enough. Don't use speaker cables, use line or "guitar" type jack cables, they are shielded, while the speakers cables are not.
