Topic: Really like to upgrade - but what happens with my old Vst projects?

Hi - maybe this is a FAQ.

I have projects with ableton live, where I use the Pianoteq3  Vst plugin. I often use the M3 piano.

Now I want to upgrade. What steps have I to do to make my old Vst projects run with the new Pianoteq?

Hello,
if you're using mac it's not an automatic procedure: PT4 installs in a new dedicated folder thus, unless you manual uninstall PT3, your old songs will continue to use the old version. Then you can check PT3 settings and manually update your song with PT4. Maybe it's tedious but it's very safe from my point of view; and wise because your old mixes continue to sound exactly the same..
I don't know what happens on other platforms but it's probably the same.

Nothing happens to your old projects - Pianteq 4 does not overwrite Pianoteq 3. Hence you can continue using Pianoteq 3 with your old projects and they will sound exactly the same. Then when you're ready to remix them with Pianoteq 4, you can.

It's great that it's not gigabytes of HD space in question, Pianoteq with all add-ons is something like 50 MB or so. No biggie.
