Its not like I don't understand the marketing idea behind the delay, because I do.
I think you are on to something here.
And this try & buy bs for customers that already have the previous product (cheap version) is kind of popular with companys that want to have max benefit from the new product. Can´t really blame them.
With hype comes different kind of things.
You could always have the option to release all versions of the product simultaneously once they are finished :)
With Modartt i do want to belive this "delay" is because of different codebase.
D4 sounds and feels nice. Hopefully this month we have STAGE and i can get my hands on it.
And hopefully Modartt is working on with the upright piano.
Peace & Patience!
I also want to believe that the delay is due to different codebase but, being a programmer myself, I have some doubt.
It is, however, possible that, as EvilDragon mentioned, the beta testers were all busy with the more expensive versions and didn't have enough time to beta test the new Play (Stage).
I too, call BS on having to download a trial version of something I own. I certainly don't want to play for 20 minutes with silent notes and have to come all the way back to my computer to restart the software.
I'm observing this forum and a few others and have been seeing lots of positive feedback on the new Pianoteq. Too bad I can't afford the Pro :(
Lets see how Stage will turn out. Maybe it will even be worth the delay. I sure hope so.
