Topic: Soundcard advice (gnu/linux) -- Behringer UCA-202?

Hi,

I'm looking for a soundcard to replace the internal soundcard of my laptop, I went to http://www.linuxstudiopro.com and I saw the very cheap UCA-202, but I've been reading reviews and some of them claim that its sound is not so good. Also, I see it uses USB 1.1, I'm not sure how fast this thing is.

I've also seen the M-Audio FastTrack MkII and some say they got it to work with GNU/Linux. Any experiences here?

So, GNU/Linux users, what would you recommend for a not-too-expensive soundcard to best hear Pianoteq's sound? Have any of you used this UCA-202 thing? Is it worth it? I'm only gonna use it for output, to my headphones and a pair of monitors, so I don't need a very fancy gear.

Thanks!

Òscar

Hi,

it's a good buy, I'm using the UCA222 which is the same as the UCA202 just in a fancier case.  You might like to read:

or search for the other threads that contain "UCA222".

cheers

I have been using it for 6 months without a problem.
