Topic: PNOscan into NUMA Nero - A Complete Success

I can tell you guys now that this project has been a complete success. Tonight and the early hours of this morning were spent figuring out how to globally adjust black key's velocity curves to white's. Complete success. I faked the 'at rest' height of the blacks by an increment of 100 (in the midi 9 software that came with the kit) and that just happened to be the perfect solution. I was to busy enjoying listening to the sounds to do a demo (maybe should have just hit record?)! I'll do one in the morning - or should I say, later!

Demo of completed calibration

I haven't even completed the levelling and yet it still sounds beautifully uniform even now.

I will however complete the levelling as the reflecting tops I'm putting on now are not brittle like the rectangular section modelling tubing I used previously. I shall also tidy everything up.

p.s. worth all the time, money and effort INHO. Far cheaper than buying all those pianos!!!

Honest opinions welcome! No holds barred!

p.p.s. if anyone wants my original brains (midi that is), sensor strip+triggers and cables from the Nero, make me an offer. I live in the UK. You may e-mail me via the forum e-mail service.

Re: PNOscan into NUMA Nero - A Complete Success

Christoper,

Good to hear that the project was a complete succes. Your project was brought to my attention just last week. Can you send me an e-mail outside the forum? (info@qrsmusic.nl) As QRS rep for Europe I might give you some advise that would allow even better results and an easier install for other instruments. I would like to avoid promoting our product in the forum. I feel this should be done by people like yourself!

Thanks,

Wim.
