are there other softwares like it for the clarinet, violin, etc?

There maybe some stuff out there, I don't know, but as far as piano modelling goes, you'll not find better elsewhere!

Re: pianoteq like software for other instruments

The matter has been discussed before, but here is a subjective summary: Pianoteq is outstanding and modeling a piano is definitely not a simple task, but it surely is simpler than many other instruments as there is not much control other than the initial impulse that determines how the note will sound (yes, there is the sustain pedal and the harp resonance related things, but still - not much continuous control that forms the sound). To get musically senseful results with a, say, violin, the player must continuously control many parameters as bow force and speed and the exciting point, vibrato and so on, and all these parameters would need to have their MIDI counterparts that control the sound synthesis, which is a really hard task in both the data acquisition and the evaluation. I don't say it can't be done, but it is really tricky.
On the other hand, there are some interesting approaches to get playable, natural sounding instruments, one of which is Mr. Sax T. that I use. It is sample based, but it uses the samples in a very sophisticated way that allows a lot of control. I'm sure there are other good virtual "real" instruments out there.

Pianoteq Pro 8.0.0, Organteq 1.6.5, MacBook Pro 16" i9, Mac OS X 13.0.1, Universal Audio Volt 4, Logic Pro X 10.7.5, FM8, Absynth 5, The Saxophones/Clarinets, Reaktor 6 and others

There's WIVI, and to a certain extent, Synful Orchestra.

Hard work and guts!

Re: pianoteq like software for other instruments

There is Hauptwerk for pipe organ. The sample sets are huge, multiple GB, the results astonishing.

Re: pianoteq like software for other instruments

Hauptwerk is not really proper modeling, not as Pianoteq does it.

samplemodeling.com  makes a series of brass instruments and saxes that use a relatively small set of samples, then do most of the articulations, note linking, phrasing  etc. via physical modeling. I haven't bought one, (I use Vienna Symphonic Lib) but they sound interesting. Like Pianoteq they seem to be quite playable in real time, and to my ear sound a bit better than Wallander Instruments (WIVI).

See above (Mr. Sax T. is one of these).

Re: pianoteq like software for other instruments

Hi,

There is physical modelling in the Korg Moss boards and Oasys and Kronos synthersizers.  These models cover brass, strings, electric piano etc.  But the software is 'hard wired' in the Moss boards (firmware).  The oasys models are confined to that synth.  None of these unfortunately run under or are available for windows or linux.

Cheers

Stuart

This is true only in MOSS (which appeared as an add-on board for Trinity and Triton, and as separate synths Z1 and Prophecy).

OASYS and Kronos only feature STR-1, which has no relation to MOSS at all, and that's only plucked string modeling.

Hard work and guts!

Although not a software plugin, the Roland Jupiter 80 apparently does use "Super Natural" modeling for other instruments.

Re: pianoteq like software for other instruments

Roland doesn't use any physical modeling in Jupiter-80. "SuperNatural" is "behavioral modeling" paired with a lot of sampling, which you can compare to having a lot of samples and a script which processes the MIDI data. Something like Native Instruments Kontakt 4 sampler.
