Topic: What is the Modartt team doing at the moment ?

Just very curious.

My wish is if they are working hard to make the attack part of the piano sound better...
And maybe add some more quality FX to the engine... better reverb, a good chorus, delay

what do others wish they are doing right now ?

Re: What is the Modartt team doing at the moment ?

Improving the tone of the instrument to get it sounding closer to a piano...

Re: What is the Modartt team doing at the moment ?

I agree about the attack; there's something about the very start of the note that feels a bit boingy to me; it's my only criticism of the sound. The Pleyel seems to me to have the best attack of all the pianos, which raises my hopes, as it's the most recent, but it also has that slightly too soft ichthus (is that the right word?).

Re: What is the Modartt team doing at the moment ?

Yep, the Playel is the best sounding right now (me think)
I have used the Playel in a recording where the sound has to cut through a busy mix.
All other Pianoteq pianos just disappeared in the mix because of the "missing" attack.

Whenever i listen to recordings of real pianos they allways have this snappy SPOIING when hit hard and if we could get that into Pianoteq it would be a winner once for all

Actually it's the attack when played MP or below that bothers me; I find that once I get to Forte and beyond the attack improves. A while ago someone posted a video from Youtube of a jazz pianist demoing Pianoteq, and several posters commented on the quality of his piano tone; it struck me at the time that he was playing quite heavily with the volume turned down; sorry I can't remember who it was...

I think this is the jazz example: http://www.forum-pianoteq.com/viewtopic...561#p10561

They're quite busy right now.

Hard work and guts!

Re: What is the Modartt team doing at the moment ?

Always looking forward to new releases

Also, more instruments. I'd pay to get more stuff like Pleyel, that was the best download since I bought pianoteq last year and it was free. Not that I'm compaining...I'd just like to see more. Like way more.

I feel this silence as a good sign

Way more, or a little more with quality as has always been the case with Modartt's offerings?

Some churn out loads of stuff, but at the price of quality! My thoughts, "Quality is Priority Number 1."

Having said that, believe me, I'm looking forward very much to the next "surprise!"
