Topic: Pianoteq not working with FL studio 9.1

Hi, I just installed the pianoteq VST instrument for use with FL Studio, and I get an odd message.  "there was a problem opening PIANOTEQ 64 bit for some unknown reason.  Please make sure it was installed properly."  Before when I was using Windows XP, it worked fine.  Not sure whats going on.  Here are my specs:

Core I7 950 3.07GHz
4 Gb RAM
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (6.1 build 7600)
NVidia Quadro FX 3700
Realtek High Def audio
DirectX 11
PianoTeq 3.6
FL studio 9.1

Anyone else have this problem?  All my drivers are up to date and my VST's have been installed properly, it is just the pianoteq VST.  The standalone pianoteq works fine.  Thanks

Not sure how well FL handles 64-bit plugins?

Perhaps try using 32-bit version as a fallback solution - Pianoteq doesn't have any merit from 64-bits at all, since it doesn't use a lot of RAM anyways.

Hard work and guts!

I am not sure this statement is completely accurate.  I agree Pianoteq does not use much RAM.  However, 64 bit math calculation could be faster than 32 bit math calculation.  Can Pianoteq staff verify this?  I am on the verge of purchasing a 64 bit machine so I can run the 64 bit Pianoteq.

Re: Pianoteq not working with FL studio 9.1

There is typically a ~10-15% performance improvement when switching to 64-bit . Regarding the FL Studio issue, I don't think that fl studio is 64-bit so the 32-bit pianoteq version must be used instead.
