Topic: Logic and DP don't "see" Pianoteq

I installed Pianoteq on my Mac.
I made a mistake and installed it on the drive reserved for VIs at first, so I went back and installed it on the system drive.
Standalone works great.

(I have the new Ivory 2 grand pianos and Italian piano, and they aren't as clear sounding as Pianoteq IMO)

Anyway, the standalone works fine but Pianoteq doesn't appear in my list list of VIs for either Logic or Digital Performer.

I checked the plugins list and it's not there.

So ... what do I need to do reinstall Pianoteq again? Do I need to something special during the installation.

It's useless to me unless I can use it my DAWs.

Re: Logic and DP don't "see" Pianoteq

Hello 9fingers, and welcome to this forum.

I can assure you that Logic and Digital performer WILL most certainly recognize Pianoteq when you install the file on the startup disk.  Please remember that Pianoteq has an extremely small footprint on the startup disk, so there should be no problem with you re-installing the .dmg file on the Macintosh HD.

I own both sequencers on my MacPro, and they each recognize Pianoteq quite readily:

In Digital Performer, you need to assign a new instrument track.  Upon doing so, you will find the usual Modart cues -- simply select Modart stereo.

In Logic, you need to assign a new software instrument track.  In the case of Pianoteq, this does not have to be multitimbral.  Once this has been done, just go down to the lower left hand corner of the screen, over the I/O box, click on it, and you will see all of the Apple, plus Audio Units selections at your disposal, of which, Modartt will be one of them.

My long answer to a short question:

Please re-install Pianoteq, and assign it to your startup disk Macintosh HD (assuming of course that is where you would keep all of your other applications).

Cheers,

Joe

Thank you so much for your suggestion jcfelice88keys!

I wish that I had thought of it.

I reinstalled Pianoteq and both Logic and DP found the audio unit plugin
