Topic: Roland sonic cell with pianoteq.

I need an audio interface for pianoteq, and since you get some other useful things with the sonic cell, I am considering it. The problem is that the sonic cell does not work with all computer software, and pianoteq is not mentioned in the specs. So I would like to know if somebody has used it with pianoteq.

Re: Roland sonic cell with pianoteq.

It looks like it has low latency drivers (i.e, ASIO) for Windows, and I assume the Mac drivers are also low latency, so it should work well with Pianoteq. I have not tried it though.

Re: Roland sonic cell with pianoteq.

Hi,

I tried Sonic Cell some years ago with PC. It was not very convincing as a sound card. I remember having some problems with latency and sound quality was average. But it was years ago and my system was at that moment Windows Vista...

Anyway I would not buy it without testing it...

...IMO its sounds are also out dated and very average quality. It tries to be little bit everything and then it's a big compromise. But there're as many needs as there are customers. Who am I to judge...

Cat, I use two different audio cards, E-MU's 0202 and Focusrites Saffire Pro 24

They are both superb. Both Focusrite and E-MU produce various interfaces to cater to your imput/output requirements, but if you just want a great audio interface to run PianoTeq through, why not go for the less-than-£90 E-MU 0202?

Just a suggestion!

Re: Roland sonic cell with pianoteq.

Thanks, all of you. Sonic cell is out, so it will be either Emu 0404 or saffire.
