Topic: setting tempo without metronome

I sometimes want to tap in a new tempo to sync the tremolo. Doing so starts the metronome, which I don't want. I couldn't find anything about this in the manual.

I notice that you can control the metronome volume (from the drop-down menu under the tempo readout) but you can't actually silence it.

Any hints?
