Topic: Pitch bend & sympathetic resonance

Hi.

I played around with the trial version 3.6.1, and must say I'm rather impressed by the overall sound and playability.

I also liked the "unorthodox" ability of pitch bending (varying string tensions). But the sympathetically excited overtones remain fixed while bending, which seems wrong. I've tried the v2 earlier and iirc, the overtones changed with pitch bend as expected.

Is this a bug or intentional behavior? I mean it may make sense while using sustain or harmonic pedal to allow bending 1 note without affecting the "background" resonances. But if it's just a single or a few undamped notes resonating, I'd definitely prefer the physically accurate behavior.

Re: Pitch bend & sympathetic resonance

Hi Orbik,
you are right, pitch bend of sympathetic resonances was possible in version 2 but not in version 3. It is not a bug, it is due to the fact that we implemented in version 3 a more sophisticated sympathetic resonances algorithm which is not compatible with pitch bend.
