Topic: Feature request: "Play mode" for Std and Pro

Hi there,

I would humbly suggest as a feature for the Std. and Pro versions, that we have a menu item to access the Pianoteq "Play mode" at least in view -- a simplified interface that eliminates visual distractions and lets us focus on playing.  It's like a "temporary visual downgrade" to Pianoteq Play, hiding all the more complex options.

I know this could be accomplished through a more complex "show/hide" set of menu options...which is fine.  But not without the simple "Play Mode" option.  Pianoteq is already so complex enough that adding more tweaking options to the interface is just giving people like me more exploratory distractions.  I need all the help I can get focusing.

It is shaping up to be a wonderful product.  I am glad I bought it back in v.2, glad I stuck it out, flattered when Pianoteq gracefully upgraded us to v.3, amazed that Pianoteq created and maintains a Linux version.

Been a while...am excited to get back into it!

You can always bring down the illustrated covers over the Tuning, Voicing and Design sections. They may be less distracting, or tempting...

I agree with this sentiment. There should be an option for this, down to the rocker switches for the Clavinet addon. The only difference would be - you'd be able to go into microphone placement mode, which would open as a separate window from this view.

Guys, this surely can't be a too hard thing to implement in one of the next Std/Pro versions, right?

Hard work and guts!

Some software programs allow you to minimise to the Desktop Tool Bar, offering a streamline display. Maybe Pianoteq could do something similar, with just the option to select the different pianos.

Just imagine if only the Piano Selection Window was on the Desktop bar.

I agree as well - and this thought occurred to me in the past.

I'd like to use PTQ as a midi player, like i use Winamp: a minimized strip on the top of the desktop, where I can drag midi files on it.

Another use - would be when reading scores from the screen - while still being able to access some minimal PTQ functions.

If Modartt chooses to go this way - i believe this strip should include just the following:
1) The transport buttons (play,record,etc..)
2) The metronome buttons
3) The new Present selection dropdown.
4) Naturally, a "maximize" button to get back to the normal view

Also - this strip should always be on top.

cheers,

+1 here in agreement.

Although I do quite like the Pianoteq Std I/face, it would certainly benefit from having a 'stripped down' version of it.

I wouldn't mind the addition of some "user selectable" preset buttons whereby the performer can quickly select one of their favorite presets.   This would be a nice addition when playing live - which I must say Pianoteq really rocks at!

I have often heard said, “Good things come to those who wait.”  Now you have the interface changed just as you’ve wanted!

Like you I am glad I got Pianoteq when it was v.2, v2.1. specifically, although late I joined forum discussions well after the released of v.5, with my very first post that also is about the interface, or more accurately, ways people can interface with software, if ever Pianoteq implements these: https://www.forum-pianoteq.com/viewtopi...11#p947811.

Pianoteq 8 Studio Bundle, Pearl malletSTATION EM1, Roland (DRUM SOUND MODULE TD-30, HandSonic 10, AX-1), Akai EWI USB, Yamaha DIGITAL PIANO P-95, M-Audio STUDIOPHILE BX5, Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP.

I know! I was excited to discover this!! I would also  love to see a loop feature. Many people have requested, and for many reasons, for at least a few reasons: Learning/study, sound tweaking/troubleshooting. It looks like a good next feature, relatively simple and with big benefit.

If the ability to use the reverb impulses with other instruments is fairly trivial, that would be pretty cool to be able to have the piano in the "same performance space" as the other instruments. I can't say I understand your other requests, though!
