Topic: Update to 3.6.1 from 3.0.4 for FREE????

Hello.
I've purchased the box version of Pianoteq Standard edition v3.0.4.
I've registered it with my serial number using "quick activation".
I've then downloaded the update to version 3.6.1 from the website. It requires me to enter the serial number and activate the copy. If I insert the same serial number it gives me a error message saying "Activation Failed, an error occorred during the activation. It reports my general details and a very long series of characters".
Isn't the update for free? Why can't I activate that license?

I don't think you have to re-register.

From memory, you just run the update, and that recognizes an already registered 3.04

I could be wrong, but thats how I remember it

regards

Hey!  These guys prefer that you use their "Support" to fix such problems -- if you haven't opened a case yet, then you can go to:

http://www.pianoteq.com/support_form

and detail your issue there (select "-- None of the above/I have another question. --).

They'll respond very quickly!

"Our developers, who art in Toulouse, hallowed be thy physical-models.
Thy version 4 come, thy new instruments be done, in the computer as it is in the wood!"

There was an activation issue for users of the 64-bit version of Pianoteq 3.6.1 on MacOS Leopard (10.5). Now it should be fixed (I have just updated the mac version of ptq 3.6.1)

I'm using Leopard 10.5. I've got the solution from the customer service and I would like to share it with you. Here it is:

There may be an issue with the activation in Leopard (MacOS X 10.5). It should however work fine in Snow Leopard (MacOS X 10.6).

It will work better if you run Pianoteq 3.6.1 in 32-bit (select the Pianoteq application in the MacOS Finder, press command-I or File / Get Info and tick the 'Open in 32-bit mode' checkbox). Once the activation is done, you can untick the "open in 32-bit mode".

Anyway, I've solved the problem by installing the version 3.6.0, activating it and updating to 3.6.1. The activation was already took from the previous version.
Cheers
