Topic: Daydreaming about midi select & knobs for detune and partial amplitude
The more I think about it, the more I wish there was a way to map midi cc's to the yellow bands on the Note edit panes for Detune and Spectrum. Wouldn't it good to be able to repitch a note (not the entire piano) by turning a knob instead of using the mouse on a slider? And the same thing for changing partial amplitudes per note.
It might be possible, for tuning, if the blue Control note things could be assigned to a CC. Then the user could assign a blue Control note thing to each note. And then either use a midi controller with 88 knobs or find a way to midi select the key by pressing on it. Press a button to turn on Midi select. Press a key to select the key. Turn a knob to tune it. (I hear your thoughts, EvilDragon.) Would feel more natural, the knob, for repitching a note, like turning a tuning pin.
More difficult for the Spectrum NE pane, since there's no need for Control note things there. But midi select by itself would work? Open the Spectrum NE pane. Press a button to turn on Midi Select. Press a note to select the note. And then the user would be limited only by the number of knobs or sliders he or she had available. In other words, the program would have to be able to sense that you wanted to use the knobs for each partial on the basis of your turning on midi select.
Press another button, and Ms. Pfeiffer rings your doorbell. Sorry. Wrong thread.
