Topic: Pysical model parameter

Hello,

Just new to modartt product with Airteq. I really like it. The UI is nice and overall the sounds are really great.

I play it with Dyosynth from ASM, the combo is just huge. I also have the Exquis and will of course give it a try.

I only have one thing missing : a deeper access to physical model. I would love to better understand how it works and play with it. Except the "air" parameter and the type of tube, there is no other parameter we can assign or modulate on a tube? Or do I miss something?

Thank you !

Re: Pysical model parameter

Hi Fil2, and welcome to the forum!

Thank you for your kind words about Airteq, both the sound and the UI.

And yes, you are right: for now, the main physical parameter you have direct access to is the dynamic Air control, in addition to the pipe type and Air response (glissando, steady pitch, overblow).

It may indeed seem fairly minimal at first, but large part of the timbral richness and variation actually comes directly from this parameter. In a way, the Air is doing the job of an entire oscillator section: changing it modifies the excitation of the physical model itself.

That said, Airteq is still in its infancy! We definitely hope to expand it in future developments with more features and deeper controls over the model.

We'll get there, but it will take some time!

It was my though, thanks for confirming.
I'll push my learning on "layering" with multitube, there is a lot to do.
As Saxophonist/ Engineer/ synth hobbyist, I would love to learn more about physical modeling, so please share a bit with us when it's possible
