There is an interesting article about Airteq in Digital Mixing written by Simon JANVIER.

It offers a slightly different interpretation of the meaning and usefulness of Airteq to that offered else where on the Web. The following quotes from Simon have altered the way I was looking at Airteq 

Airteq’s promise lies less in imitating a pipe organ than in exploring a hybrid territory between sound design and instrumental playing.

and

It does share an obvious kinship with granular synthesis in its taste for textures that evolve continuously.

I had thought that Airteq was my answer for building a trompette en chamade to go with various Baroque pieces on Organteq ( and it may still achieve it ). However I think my aural concept of the trompettes was a more living and dynamic personification of the instrument, perched gargoyle-like on the top of the organ, having a marvellous time piercing the Veil with its blasts.

I think that Airteq might well pour some animation into my gargoyle if not, perhaps, life, pace Dr Frankenstein. Either way it is going to be tremendously fun adventure with lots of rabbit holes to vanish down along the way. First stop is listening to some Iannis Xenakis and reading about granular synthesis.

Oh, and I might generate some music along the way
