Love this atmosphere Ken!
That gritty upright character gives the improvisation so much heart and soul.
Sometimes the imperfections are exactly what make the music feel real.

Your description , the name, and the picture and the piece the music - perfect!!
I can imagine it's the guy with the piano playing.
Before it became a cozy music genre, "lo-fi" (short for low-fidelity) literally meant a low-quality audio recording with technical flaws, background noise, and cheap equipment. There is no background noise in the piece but the music and the name go together so well.
Low Fidelity was the exact opposite of "hi-fi" (high-fidelity), which aimed for clean, crisp, professional studio sound. Early home recordings on basic cassette tapes naturally had tape hiss, distortion, static, and uneven sound levels because the gear was cheap.
I myself started in the 60s with cassette tapes and reel-to-reel recording.
You succeeded again! Thank you ken. Now I have to begin to say ”in my top ten-list”. Not top five

Hi Stig, you really help place things in perspective and very glad you can relate to the days then lo-fi wasn't so much as artistic choice but a reality of the equipment a shoestring musician might have had to deal with.
